Meets Bert Saria at his Home in Avondale

After checking and picking up my entry badge at the Phoenix Convention Center West Building near the Symphony Hall on Saturday 2 Aug. Bert invited me to see their place in Avondale. It was a very nice place and have seen his Table Tennis Trophies from tournament in Pensacola and also Luisiana. We talked about his good old days in DGar. He also showed me the 2nd Place trophy way back in the late 80's when he lost to Rey Rios in the finals of the DG Open. But he's equally proud with the Doubles trophy he and Rey Rios won. His DG memories and trophies adorned his study room. All his children have settled in various part of the United States (New Jersey, Florida and in Arizona). He currently have 9 grandchildren.

Thanks for the kind words Richard. It's so nice to meet a former colleague and a friend in the US Navy after so many years. We just hope that you will enjoy your stay here, though it's a brief one. Not to mention, "it's soooo hot here at this time of the year" :-) In our small way, we'll try to extend the authentic Arizonan hospitality :-) as they say. We fully understand how it feels when your first set your feet in a place where you have not been before.
