The Pinoys in this part of the world, have spent thousands fo hours preparing for the event to fully culminate on Saturday, 14 June 08, (Note: The celebration was move from 12 June 08, the actual date of the independenc e proclamation by the then President Emilio Aguinaldo in Kawit, Cavite, 110 years ago) this is to make way for other NOY-PIs and their friends to be able to celebrate freely this hard earned Inpedendence form the mapanakop na Kastila ng mga panahong iyon. But before this, there were many activities/events that had been completed or fulfilled. The Kabayan Night held at Filmau Club in April and the Canvassing for the search for Binibining Pilipinas DG 2008 held in May also at the FILMAU Club. A lot of prizes were given, to the lucky ticket holders of the raffle draw during the April and May event, worth more than $2000. Last night at the Island Room of the Turner Club, the final conclusion of the Pageantry earned a lot of positive praises from the guest, fellow Pinoys and also the Judges and Presentors of the Awards. KUDOS to the Committee and to all the Volunteers, Performers, Planners, Decorators and most of all the pageant night directors, scriptwriters and host. But don't forget the bartenders, waiters and the janitorials who keep the pageant fully hydrated and the Island room cleaned.
A lot of names to be thanked, but I would like to congratulate the winners of the pageant, The Binibining Pilipinas DG 2008 and her court (All seven of them; Jackie, Tess, Mylen, Mitch, Tina, Rachelle, and Sei).
See you on Friday, 13 June 08, also at the Island room, for the Cultural Night (8:00 P.M.) that will showcase the songs, dances, culture and traditions of the Filipino people to pre-highlight the parade, picnic and sports fest the following day. Mabuhay ang Sambayanang Pilipino. Maligayang Pagdiriwang at Mabuhay ang Kalayaan. God Bless all freedom loving citizens of the Philippines and of the World.
